William J. Black (Jeff), Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Black is the Founding Member and Managing Director of parent company, MidCap Credit & Capital, LLC (“MCC”). He began his career as an investment analyst at Financial Network Investment Corporation, a subsidiary of ING. In 2001 he founded and managed a private real estate investment and asset management firm, managing over $200 million of real estate, alternative investments, and small business assets by 2007. He served as president of Tribunus, LLC from 2007 to 2009 where he was responsible for managing and servicing a $490 million privately held portfolio of secured loans for distribution to investors in Europe, Asia and the United States. Jeff became CEO of MidCap following MCC’s acquisition in 2009. He is a graduate of Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Steven Samson, President, Business Credit
Steve is responsible for the risk and operation functions at MidCap. Steve has more than 30 years of experience in commercial banking and asset based lending including field examination, account management, transaction underwriting, and risk management. Steve has spent most of his career in leadership positions with People’s United Bank, GE Capital, and most recently with RBS Citizens Business Capital. Steve has also served in senior level risk roles with two start-up specialty finance companies. He is a Director of the Commercial Finance Association, New York. Steve received his undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Connecticut and his juris doctor degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law.

Saurin Shah, President, Equipment Finance
Mr. Shah has 17 years of experience in commercial finance providing revolving loans, equipment leases and cash flow loans to small businesses and Fortune 500. He has deployed over $1B in equipment backed transactions to small and medium size businesses. Saurin has deep expertise in credit, risk management and restructuring. Mr. Shah was the co-founder and EVP for SLR Equipment Finance (f.k.a. Nations Equipment Finance). He was also with GE Capital and FirstLight Financial. Saurin holds a B.S. Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.

Peter Rutigliano, EVP, Risk Officer, Business Credit
Peter’s career in asset-based lending has spanned over 20 years. Over the course of his career he has been a field examiner, managed credit, customer relationships, and teams of analysts for Fleet Bank, Affiliated Business Credit Corporation, First Union, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo Bank. Prior to his career in banking he worked for several regional public accounting firms. Peter is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University. He is focused on deal structuring, analysis, and risk management. Peter joined MidCap in 2011.

Al Berger, EVP, Head of Credit, Equipment Finance
Mr. Berger is responsible for all underwriting and portfolio management activities for the equipment finance business. He has 20 years of commercial credit risk management experience for regulated and nonregulated companies. Prior to joining MidCap, Al was Senior Vice President of Underwriting and Portfolio Management at SLR Equipment Finance. Al has been responsible for underwriting loans, leases, and lines of credit across many industries and has experience with risk rating modeling, problem loan management, portfolio risk assessment and reporting. Al holds a BA History from Binghamton University and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.

Seth A. Cooper, EVP, Head of Sales, Business Credit
Seth is responsible for new business development throughout the Northeast. He has spent the last 15 years building asset based businesses for both large regional banks and independent commercial finance companies. He is a former board member of the CT Turnaround Management Association and is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association, the Association for Corporate Growth and the Commercial Finance Association. Seth received his undergraduate degree from Elon University.

Matt Lightfoot, EVP, Head of Sales, Equipment Finance
Mr. Lightfoot is responsible for all originations activities for the equipment finance business. He has 12 years of experience in commercial finance providing loans, equipment leases and equipment revolvers to both public and private companies. Prior to MidCap, Matt was a Senior Vice President of Business Development at SLR Equipment Finance. Matt has originated and structured equipment backed transactions from $1MM to $50MM with companies ranging from $20MM in revenue to Fortune 500 companies across a wide array of asset classes. Matt holds a B.S.B.A. in Marketing from Bowling Green State University.

Jarrod Hicks, SVP, Business Development, Equipment Finance
Jarrod is responsible for new business development nationally and in Canada. He has over 17 years of experience in the equipment finance industry, creating strong partnerships with capital intensive, middle market businesses. Jarrod has worked with numerous sponsor supported privately held companies as well as publicly traded firms across a variety of industries. Prior to joining MidCap, Jarrod has held senior originations roles at Clarus Capital, CIT, SLR Equipment Finance and First National Capital Corporation. Jarrod is a graduate of Kent State University.

Rusty K. Bramlett, SVP, Business Development Officer – Southeast Region
Rusty is located in Atlanta, Georgia and is responsible for new business development throughout the Southeast. He has over 25 years of sales and credit experience, primarily in asset based lending. His background covers all facets of lending from loan origination to risk management, underwriting and problem loan resolution. His work experience includes marketing asset based facilities for BB&T Commercial Finance, GE Capital, Comerica Business Credit and independent commercial finance companies. Rusty is a graduate of Georgia College and State University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Georgia.

Bruce Pavesich, SVP, Business Development Officer- Mid-Atlantic & Midwest Region
Bruce is located in Baltimore, Maryland and is responsible for new business development throughout the Mid-Atlantic States. He has over 30 years of sales and credit experience primarily in Asset Based Lending. He has worked for various Banks and Commercial Finance Companies including Wells Fargo, Textron, Keltic Financial and Crestmark Bank.
