William J. Black (Jeff), Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Black is a Founding Member and Managing Director of parent company, Cantaro Capital, LLC. He began his career as an investment analyst at Financial Network Investment Corporation, a subsidiary of ING. In 2001 he founded and managed his own real estate investment and asset management firm, managing over $200 million of real estate, alternative investments, and small business assets by 2007. He served as president of Tribunus, LLC from 2007 to 2009 where he was responsible for managing and servicing a $490 million privately held portfolio of secured loans for distribution to investors in Europe, Asia and the United States. Jeff became CEO of MidCap following Cantaro’s acquisition in 2009 and is responsible for its recapitalization and restart, and the execution of its strategic business plans. He is a graduate of Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Steven Samson, President

Steve is responsible for the risk and operation functions at MidCap. Steve has more than 20 years of experience in commercial banking and asset based lending including field examination, account management, transaction underwriting, and risk management. Steve has spent most of his career in leadership positions with People’s United Bank, GE Capital, and most recently with RBS Citizens Business Capital. Steve has also served in senior level risk roles with two start-up specialty finance companies. He is a Director of the Commercial Finance Association, New York. Steve received his undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Connecticut and his juris doctor degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law.

Peter Rutigliano C.P.A., Executive Vice President, Risk Officer

Peter’s career in asset-based lending has spanned over 20 years. Over the course of his career he has been a field examiner, managed credit, customer relationships, and teams of analysts for Fleet Bank, Affiliated Business Credit Corporation, First Union, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo Bank. Prior to his career in banking he worked for several regional public accounting firms. Peter is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University. He is focused on deal structuring, analysis, and risk management. Peter joined MidCap in 2011.

Donald T. Thiesen, Vice President, Relationship Manager

Don is responsible for managing a portion of MidCap’s loan portfolio. Don maintains over 25 years of experience in specialty niche finance and asset based lending including leadership positions in business development, portfolio management, field examinations, underwriting, and loan workout. Previous employers include UPS Capital Business Credit, Textron Financial Corporation, and Shawmut National Corporation. Don received his undergraduate degree from North Adams State College and holds an MS in Management with a concentration in Financial Services from Rennselear Polytechnic Institute.

Seth A. Cooper, Senior Vice President, Sales Manager, Business Development Officer – Northeast

Seth is responsible for new business development throughout the Northeast. He has spent the last 15 years building asset based businesses for both large regional banks and independent commercial finance companies. He is a former board member of the CT Turnaround Management Association and is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association, the Association for Corporate Growth and the Commercial Finance Association. Seth received his undergraduate degree from Elon University.

Bruce Pavesich, Senior Vice President, Business Development Officer- Mid-Atlantic & Midwest Region

Bruce is located in Baltimore, Maryland and is responsible for new business development throughout the Mid-Atlantic States. He has over 30 years of sales and credit experience primarily in Asset Based Lending. He has worked for various Banks and Commercial Finance Companies including Wells Fargo, Textron, Keltic Financial and Crestmark Bank. Bruce is a board member of the Chesapeake chapter of the Turnaround Management Association., and is also active in the Association of Corporate Growth and the Commercial Finance Association. Bruce received his Bachelors of Science from Virginia Tech.

Rusty K. Bramlett, Senior Vice President, Business Development Officer – Southeast Region

Rusty is located in Atlanta, Georgia and is responsible for new business development throughout the Southeast. He has over 25 years of sales and credit experience, primarily in asset based lending. His background covers all facets of lending from loan origination to risk management, underwriting and problem loan resolution. His work experience includes marketing asset based facilities for BB&T Commercial Finance, GE Capital, Comerica Business Credit and independent commercial finance companies. Rusty is a graduate of Georgia College and State University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Georgia.

Bill Nay, Senior Vice President, Business Development Officer – Southwest Region

Bill is located in Dallas, Texas and is responsible for new business development throughout Texas and the Southwest. He has over 25 years of sales and credit experience in Middle Market Lending, Asset Based Lending and Technology Banking. He has worked for various Banks including Bank of America, Silicon Valley Bank, Bridge Bank and Webster Business Credit. Bill is a member of Turnaround Management Association and is active in the Association for Corporate Growth and Secured Finance Network. Bill received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma.

Scott Hohenschutz, Assistant Vice President, Risk Compliance Manager

Scott is responsible for managing the operations and collateral department. Scott also performs field exams on existing and prospective clients. He has been with MidCap since 2007, working with operations, credit/collateral analysis, and underwriting before being promoted to his current position. Scott received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University New Orleans.

Leonides Martinez, Operations Analyst

Leonides is responsible for internal operations functions and collateral analysis including processing client reporting, funding, bank reconciliations, and data entry. Leonides received her BBA in Accounting from The Westchester College and is currently working on her MBA in Finance at Post University.
